Replace the Wrapper system font with Helvetica Neue Bold?
« on: September 19, 2015, 02:33:18 PM »
You probably have noticed that your Wine windows don't have the same font than your Mac, right? That's because Windows use Tahoma, while Macs use the Helvetica Neue Family. Considering that the default Helvetica Neue was too thin in my tests, I'm suggesting the use of Helvetica Neue Bold with a bigger LogPixels to match the size of Tahoma.

Original winecfg

Helvetica Neue winecfg

(I recommend opening the images in two different tabs to compare)

What do you think? Should we make that an option, do it all the time or just forget it?

I think this is a good change, I don't see a reason to stay with the old font. The new font seems a little smoother and easier to read.

So I guess it is official  ;D But since I'm not sure if that can cause some collateral effect or not, I will add it has an optional feature for now. If no one finds any bug related to it, then it will be official.
